Kelsey Siddles looked around the docking port and sighed. Why she agreed to come here was a question that needed to be answered. She didn't know for sure if Atlantis was right for her but it was another step in her career. Her thoughts were interupted by the voice of someone talking to her.

Elizabeth walked down the peir and smiled, holding her hand out to the young Marine standing the back. "Hello, you must be Lt. Siddles, I'm sorry you missed the Daedalus last trip here. I'm Dr. Elizabeth Weir, welcome."

"Hello," Kelsey smiled. "I'm very sorry about not being able to catch the last trip, a family crisis kept me away."
At this moment, Kelsey was being very polite, and military-she didn't want to lose the oportunity to be here on Atlantis.

"Quite alright. We get used to it. Half of the city left someone home and the other half seem to be without ties." Elizabeth smiled.

"As it seems," Kelsey laughed. "So this is quite awkward. I'm told I'm one of the only female Marines..."

"One of our few yes." Elizabeth nodded, "We have a lieutenant, Laura Cadman, she's hard to miss. Red hair and spirit to go with it."

"I'm sure I'll meet her," Kelsey smiled, a rather fake smile. "So Weeeird? Is that your name? We should probably move or something, cause I really dont like standing in one place."

"Yeah Kay," Kelsey smiled as she followed the expedition leader into the city. "So what do y'all do around here for fun and work for that matter?" she asked as her southern accent slipped.

"Well it depends on what you think is fun." Elizabeth said. "As for work, we conduct missions much like the SGC does. We also analyze everything we find, including Atlantis itself, hoping to find out more about the Ancients."

"Doctor, I'm a marine, no offence to you or anyone else here, but I'm not the person to be doing any kind of studying of technology. I'd rather be on a front line team, doing what I've been trained to do," Kelsey explained as the two women walked.
Sure she was smart and everything, but Kelsey wasn't one to sit and study long hard hours. She never did, not even in university, sciences and math just came to her, but she was a marine for a reason, she was an action, gong-ho kinda girl.

Elizabeth smiled, "Half of the city is military Lieutenant. I assure you, you'll find something you enjoy here."
