Doctor Elizabeth Weir sat behind her desk, her bright green eyes looking over the latest reports from one of the off world teams. Nothing particularly notable stood out from the basic recon mission so she closed the file and reached for another when movement outside her door caught her eye.

Major Marcus Lorne paused in the doorway and nodded to her before a small smile graced his lips, “Ma’am, we just heard from the Daedalus, they’ll be landing in roughly five minutes.”

Elizabeth smiled and nodded to the dark haired major before standing up and straightening her shirt. She’d opted for her usual attire; a short sleeved red V-neck shirt and gray pants, to wear when she met the newest group of arrivals to Atlantis. More of the city was now open to personnel and with the deaths the expedition had suffered, the SGC and expedition decided to add to Atlantis’ population.
“Well then we shouldn’t keep them waiting.” Elizabeth smiled as she walked around her desk. Lorne took a step back to let her out of the office before he followed behind her as they went to await the Daedalus’ arrival.

Docking Platform
Agent Rayne Brauer stepped off the Daedalus onto the platform, the wooden soles of her sandles making a slight click on the floor. The sandals, the denim skirt that fell to her knees, and her T-shirt advertising 'The Grassroots' was the outfit she had worn entering the Daedalus, and most likely the reason that even after she'd changed into a jumpsuit for the remainder of the trip Colonel Caldwell still looked at her as if his ship had been invaded by crazy hippies. Rayne squared her shoulders and proceded toward the greeting party. She was a firm believer in first impressions and had learned from years of travel expierience that she made a better impression on people when she was comfortable, and didn't feel like killing them. The woman waiting had to be Dr. Elizabeth Weir, leader of Atlantis. She had no idea who the man was, he didn't match the description of John Sheppard. Rayne smiled and dropped her hand from the strap of her backpack extending it to Weir as she noted the rank of the Airman at her side for future reference. "Hi. Rayne Brauer, CIA"

"Agent Brauer, pleased to meet you. I'm Doctor Elizabeth Weir. Welcome to Atlantis." Elizabeth said with a diplomatic smile as she held out her hand.

"Major Marcus Lorne ma'am. USAF." He said offering his own hand.

Rayne released Weir's hand and accepted Lorne's "Pleased to meet you Major." Rayne found herself looking down slighty at the shorter officer. "And feel free to call me Rayne. I've spent most of my time at CIA in the field so I'm a firm believer in formality only when absolutely necessary."

"Sorry I'm late," said Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard, loping onto the platform and coming to stand beside Dr. Weir. "What've I missed?"

"CIA?" John's eyebrows went up. "Are we planning to infiltrate the Wraith hive ships or something? Pretend to be worshipping them, but actually spying on them?" He paused. "That's not a bad idea, actually. We should try it sometime." Approaching Major Lorne and Agent Brauer, he coughed and held out a hand to the new arrival. "Hi, Lieutenant Colonel Sheppard, at your service."

Roxanne stepped out of the massive ship, stopping momentarily. She turned and glanced over her shoulder, and then looked up at the towers of the ancient city. "This is incredible..." she said quietly to herself. Hearing voices a few feet in front of her, she walked towards the four people talking. Not wanting to interrupt, she waited for a pause in thier conversation. After a moment she cleared her throat, stuck out her hand in Dr. Weir's direction. "Hello. I'm Dr. Roxanne Sterling. It's an honor to meet you, and to be here."

Rory walked slowly down the ramp from the Daedalus, her head tilted upward taking in everything that was before her. She was in awe, even with all the briefings she'd had, the place was still breath taking. Her mouth hung open as she turned on the spot and looked up at the alien sky, every thing was so different! Walking backwards down the ramp like a little kid in a candy store, she was soon brought to her senses when she bumped into some one. Quickly turning around, there was the briefest moment of shock and then she quickly snapped to attention. "Sorry Sir... Ma'am" she saluted and stood stock still waiting for a reply. 'Great entrance Rory' she chastised her self.

"Hello Dr. Sterling, I'm Dr. Elizabeth Weir." Liz smiled shaking the woman's hand. "And we're very happy to have you. A woman of your skills is rare, let alone a woman willing to take a job in another galaxy."
She smiled slightly as more people left the Daedalus and headed over towards them, especially the brunette that bumped into her.
"You must be General O'Neill's niece, you have his eyes. Hello, Dr. Elizabeth Weir." Liz said offering her hand.
