Rory crossed the floor to the Stargate, as she neared it she couldnt help but reach out to it. Her palm flat against the the side of the Stargate she looked up at it in amazement, jaw open. She took in all the differances and boy were there lots. There was no ramp like at the SGC and no Iris, the gate itself was a lot more refined, no spinning inner ring, and the symbols were different too. She pondered what the next few months would have instore for her, and how many times she'd get to travel through the Stargate.

Kate stood back and smiled, "I had the same reaction. It's mindblowing - as if traveling to other worlds from Earth wasn't cool enough, now you're in another universe and getting to do it."

Rayne nodded sympathetically. "I can understand that. A civilian isn't always welcome on a military base either. The CIA can have a pretty bad reputation with troops. And not always without reason." She added.

"Well, this isn't your everyday base, so maybe things will be different here." Roxanne stated, it was more a wish than a statement though.

"Well I think I've probably missed the worst of the military versus civilian wars" Rayne laughed. "And I think you'll find a lot of open minds here from what I've heard. Have you worked with military patients before?"

"Yes I have. My specialties are PTSD and addiction issues. I've worked with soldiers from Iraq, Afganistan, even some of the Penatgon personnel after nine-eleven." Roxanne got quiet for a second, she had needed her own therapy after that period. "You'd be surprised how many higher ups in the military have these issues, especially addictions. I also do general counseling if people need it. They were impressed with the results after working with my patients, so when they decided to send some new folks out after the recent attacks here, they asked if I wanted it, and I couldn't refuse. This isn't something you pass up. So what about you, how'd you end up here?"

Kate stood back and smiled, "I had the same reaction. It's mindblowing - as if traveling to other worlds from Earth wasn't cool enough, now you're in another universe and getting to do it." Rory blinked her self back to reality, she had only just heard the words. She shook the fuzziness from her head "Amazing" it was the only word that came to mind. She wondered if for a moment if there was something going on with the City and her Genes. Back in the real world she decided it was time to see what other wonders were around here. "So where next Doctor?"

"Well you've seen the Control room, the Gate...what about some basic needs like the gym and cafeteria?" Kate offered.

"I'm not completely sure" Rayne laughed. "I traveled a lot, even before I joined CIA so I'm used to being thrown into new places and having to sink or swim. My expertise is in the field, working things out as I go along. And my working with the military in the past, generally with positive results." Rayne paused. "Speaking of which, I was wondering if, as a mental health practitioner, you could answer a question for me?"

Rory and Dr Baldwin stepped out into the coridoor, they were heading backtoward the accomodation. Rory Guessed the Cafeteria must be around there somewhere.

"There are quarters throughout the entire city so its not limited to just this area. Most of the time there's really no reason to head into a different living area unless you're visiting someone." Kate smiled.

Rayne grinned. "Well it's really not that serious. But if you know where quarters are I wouldn't mind trying to find my room."

"Well I know where mine are, so I'm assuming there are all in the same general area. Let's go." Roxanne and Rayne left the control area and headed through Atlantis.
((OOC-if you want we get pick this up in your quarters unless you have something else in mind.))
