Rory was shown to her quarters by Major Lorne and told someone would be by in about an hour to show her around Atlantis.
Her quarters were small, but dry and warm and after some of her postings that was a real plus. She took a moment to wonder about and find where everything was. She had a large window that looked out over the ocean, the view was stunning and she could see for miles. There was a small desk and a a set of drawers and over in the corner was what appeared to be a closet. The best feature of the room was the bed, although not as big as a double it was certainly more than a single, and when she sat down on it it was so comfy. Rory dropped her pack onto the floor and lay back on the bed taking in her surroundings. After a moment or so she rolled onto her stomache and took in the view out of the window, it was so amazing she just couldnt belive what had happened in the last few weeks. The journey on the Deadalus had taken 3 weeks but had so been worth it.

Rory was just starting to unpack her bag when an SF turned up with her stuff. He had wheeled it down on a trolley and was unsure if it should have all been brought to her quarters. Rory assured the young man that her quarters would be fine for now until she had settled in.
Rory started to unload the kit off the trolley, she had forgotten just how much she had brought. It had been stowed in the Daedalus' hold for the last three weeks and Rory had been living out of her pack. She unpacked her customized laptop, it had a purple metallic finish and was covered in a fantasy design. Next she unpacked the two external hard drives and connected them up. She had to hunt about but eventually found the power sockets that some one had rigged up and plugged in her lap top.
She unpacked her clothes and the rest of her kit including some of the personal effects they had been allowed to bring, these included a picture of her brother and one of her Mom and Dad. Her Ipod and its speakers and her PDA, with a collection of books she wanted to read stored on it amongst the data. She unpacked the remainder of her stuff and settled down to look at her new home. "Hmm, still needs work" she said to no one in particular "but It'll have to do for now."
She approached the door to her quarters and it slid open, she looked down the corridor. There was no one in sight, she checked her watch. No one had come for her and it had been an hour now. "looks like Ill have to find my own way" she started out down the corridor in what she hoped was the direction of the control room.

Rory had only walked a short distance down the hall when a young woman came jogging around the corner and called her name "Lt. O'Neill?"
"Yeah... erm!" Rory was trying to spot a rank or some indication of one 'damn these Atlantis uniforms' "Yes thats me, sorry don't think me rude but you would be?" the only saving grace was the US flag on the young womans left arm. Rory offered her hand not wanting to seem impolite.

"I'm sorry to be late." Kate smiled holding her hand out, "Doctor Kathleen Baldwin. I got caught up in my office. I'm the resident Dr. Jackson of Atlantis."
She figured that if anyone would know Dr. Jackson, it would be someone with the last name of O'Neill.
"Dr. Weir asked me to give you a tour of the hotspots of the City."

(OOC - Well anywhere you want Rory to see first? I'm trying to keep in mind Gatebee wanting Jack to talk to you...so control room if Jack has a message, letter I can give anywhere.)

Rory arrived at her quarters and dumped all the new kit down on her bed. She dug out the new uniform and was plesantly suprised to find it had already been laundered, and had non of the starchy feel of new uniform, 'good thing about this being a civilian run operation' she thought.
Grabbing a new black T shirt, and the Atlantis issue pants and jacket she quickly changed. She admired the new look in the mirror 'not bad' she was impressed with the fit and feel of the uniform 'should be comfy enough'. she Grabbed her already packed pack and transfered her kit from it and into the new issue one, she added some of the items she'd been issued and then tested it for weight. Happy that it was still a comfortable weight she added a few personal items that she thought would be handy. Lastly she adjusted the straps on her tac vest and tried it on for size, she smiled to her self for getting it right first time and strapped up the leg holster.
Pack on her back she took one last look around her room mentally checking off a list in her head, happy that she had everything she stepped out of the room and jogged of toward the Armoury.
